QUINCE - Crimea
Crimea is a European type quince with large yellow fruit. Crimea quince has an aromatic yellow flesh that softens when cooked ...into a delicious fruity sauce. Masses off large white flowers on naked, knurled branches makes for a dramatic spring landscape plant. Grows as a densely branched shrub in our cold climate and starts fruiting usually one to two years after planting.
Kaunching is a another hardy Russian variety that produces a large yellow fruit that is thought to be one of the best for fresh eating as well as delicious when cooked into sauces, jellies or jams.
Both are SELF-FERTILE and hardy to ZONE 4
