Antanovka is an old Russian apple variety with yellow skin and mild sweet flesh. Tree is very hardy and the fruit matures early in August. Old fashioned flavour comes across in pies and sauce made with the apples. Popular as a northern hardy rootstock for other apple varieties. Produces a well anchored tree of approximately 5 metres Also resistant to apple scab and other apple diseases that attack other apple varieties like McIntosh
