A tough, small (6M) tree with beautiful foliage and unique coppery-bronze bark, This very hardy(Zone 2) tree is ideal for poor dry city soils and because it also fixes nitrogen(fertilizer) it is useful for enriching poor country soils as well. Very abundant spring flowers provide nectar for hungry bees and other insects. This hardwood tree is rot resistant so useful for fencing, decks, tool handles,etc. Should be added to permaculture and food forest applications.
