Our Sauvage Butternut is from an old tree found growing wild on an abandoned farm in Quebec. These butternut seedlings are hardy to zone 2/3 winters and are resistant to the butternut chancre that is killing most of our native butternut trees. The nuts are delicious with a "buttery" texture and will store all winter for a high quality protein substitute.
