BRANDYWINE and ROYALTY.....two raspberry X blackberry crosses with huge, firm, purplish berries of excellent flavour( sweet but with a slight refreshing tartness). Excellent for pies and jams as well as fresh eating right off the plant. Purple raspberry plants do not send up annoying suckers all around the mother plant.... like red raspberries do.  The blackberry genetics in the parentage of the purple raspberry reduces the suckering to almost zero.
