THORNFREEDOM is a new blackberry that has it all.....huge tasty SWEETberries, vigorous thornfree canes that give huge crops in both summer and again in fall( everbearing). Combines best attributes of two other blackberry varieties..... Perron (no thorns and zone 4 hardiness) and Prim Arc ( fall everbearing). Everbearing trait means that if overwintering canes die the new canes that come up from the root in summer will still give a berry crop in fall. Also canes can be protected for winter by laying them on the ground in late fall and then covering with leaves or other mulch protection.
