Olives have been grown in Europe for centuries and fortunes made on "speciality" olive oils. We now hear stories of these higher priced oils being mixed with cheaper adulterants so maybe it is a good time to try to grow our own olive trees. Olive fruit can also make a delicious and healthy( iron rich) addition to a meal. We stock a few of the best eating olive varieties. Olive trees can be grown outdoors where temps do not go much below -10 C or as a potted tree in colder zones. Easy to care for outdoor plant as no insect or disease problems here in Canada ..and very easy to grow and keep small as a 4-5 ft potted plant(5 gallon pot)....which can be brought inside where winters are too cold
